The market for dedicated meeting-note hardware has broadened beyond traditional pendants, pins and credit-card-sized devices. Companies are now offering a variety of wearables that fit different styles and usage habits. A fresh addition to this lineup arrives in the form of a ring-shaped gadget that promises to blend seamlessly with everyday accessories. The Vocci ring is designed to let users begin a recording with a single tap while maintaining a discreet appearance.
Ring design and controls
The gadget features a single button that users double-tap to start capturing audio and double-tap again to stop. Press-and-hold activates the built-in AI assistant, but the assistant only responds when the companion app is open on a paired smartphone.
An LED indicator and a subtle haptic motor give tactile feedback during recording. Weighing under 6 grams, the outer and inner surfaces are coated in titanium, which provides a durable yet lightweight feel.
Battery life and hardware
Vocci claims the ring can capture up to 8 hours of audio on a single charge. A molded plastic case serves as a charger and reportedly restores enough power for three full recording cycles, allowing users to keep the device ready throughout a typical workday.
The hardware relies on miniature microphones, a rechargeable battery and Bluetooth connectivity to sync with the phone app. Similar products, such as Pebble’s Index 01 Ring and Sandbar’s Stream Ring, use comparable components but differ in software focus.
Software performance
During testing, the device produced clear transcripts even in noisy café environments, handling conversations longer than an hour with minimal errors. Short, spontaneous notes, however, proved less efficient, as the AI often generated insights longer than the original input.

The companion app organizes each recording into three sections: “Chat” for the full transcript, “Highlights” for user-captured snippets, and “Notes” for a summary and AI-generated insights. Users must press the button during a conversation to create a highlight.
A “Base” tab aggregates all transcripts, recordings and derived content, but reviewers found it redundant and noted the lack of a direct way to start a chat with the AI for a given transcript.
Unlike some rivals, the app does not integrate with popular reminder services, limiting its usefulness for quick to-do items. Feature updates have been slow; the Model Context Protocol, which allows connection to other assistants, only appeared weeks after initial release.
Other meeting-note platforms are already offering automated workflow tools, leaving Vocci’s ecosystem appearing less mature at present.
Given the device’s discreet appearance, privacy concerns arise. The ring’s button blends with ordinary jewelry, and the recording indicator faces the wearer, making it easy for a user to record without obvious disclosure. Legal requirements in many jurisdictions mandate informing participants before recording.
